An old, small notebook found among some old West Heath paperwork contained details of past reunions for year groups at West Heath. Some of these details included names of the people who had attended and there were also some faded photographs for a few of them. Here is some of the information from years gone by to stir a few memories.
CLAYDON HOUSE
In 1985 there was an excellent turn out of nearly 50 people who were connected with West Heath from 1940-45. This must have been a strange time to be at the school as the Second World War was still raging. Unfortunately, there is no photograph with this
MAUDLIN FARMHOUSE
Nine pupils, who joined West Heath in 1950, met up on 14 March 1995 for an annual reunion. The guest list included Ruth Rudge and there were the familiar names of Lescalles and Chipchase. No photographic evidence of this get together has been found yet.
BUTTERSTONE
West Heath pupils with Scottish Connections met up on 5 March 1995 at Butterstone School in Perthshire. Ann Williamson, the West Heath head at the time, and former head Ruth Rudge joined a group of about 30 people. There are a few names on the backs of the photos including Rosemary Findlay, Victoria Maxwell-MacDonald, Alex Delaforce, Mary-Ann Stewart-Richardson, Nicky Bradford, Lindsay Arbuthnott (Sillars), Carol Bridges, Juliet White, ‘Bumble (OG)’ – and possibly another ‘Bumble (OW)’. You can see photos from the day by using the arrows to click through.
LITTLE GABLES
Ruth Rudge was once again on the guest list at Little Gables in Mere on 19 May 1998 where Pam Hawkings hosted 17 people. There does not appear to be a photo of the guests or what era they are from, but there is a tennis team pic featuring Pam along with other players including Priscilla Morison, Joan Maitland, Elizabeth Watson, Ann Low and Jo Wright.

MYSTERY REUNION
There are no details as to where one of the photos came from but on the back it has a date of 17 May 1994 and the note that Sue Snodgrass and Elizabeth Anderson are missing from the picture. There is also the word Whatton which may refer to the Morpeth address Northumberland at the time of Nicky Blackett. Does this reunion rings any memory bells with anyone?

* It is good when we hear that the tradition of West Heath year groups organising annual reunions are still happening, and we’d love to hear about them. Let us know when they are happening, or have happened, and email us a picture or two with some details about the location and the former , and any staff who were there, to: WHOGA@hotmail.com
