April 2025
Welcome to a new West Heath Old Girls Association (WHOGA) email newsletter which also coincides with the relaunch of a new WHOGA website.
The purpose of the newsletter is to help keep us all up to date by informing you about posts on the website involving former staff and pupils. Plus, we will take a look back at the history, traditions, events, and amusing stories that made West Heath such a unique school.
These items will be featured on the new website, and the newsletter will alert you to the latest articles once they have been posted.
For example:
Who received an MBE in the recent New Year’s Honour’s awards?
Which ‘celebrity’ and former pupil has been helping to plant trees?
Plus, read tributes to former staff who have sadly passed away.
You will find the new website at:
www.whoga.co.uk
All the information from the previous site has also been transferred to our new wordpress platform.
In order to protect the privacy of WHOGA members, there are still some ‘members only’ sections that can only be accessed using a password (see more info below).
And of course we want to hear from you. For example, several year groups have annual reunions. Make sure you email in some photographs and information from these get togethers. Or if you are launching a new business, publishing a book, or just have some good news, let us know by emailing details to:
WHOGA@hotmail.com
EMAIL ADDRESSES
The database for the WHOGA newsletter has been compiled by combining names and email addresses from several different lists going back over many years. There are more than 500+ emails on the combined database but some of the information provided may now be out of date. If you have a more current email address you would prefer us to use, please supply the details.
If you hear of any former classmates who are not getting the WHOGA newsletters, please suggest they provide us with a current email.
And, of course, if you prefer not to receive this correspondence you can unsubscribe.
PASSWORDS FOR THE ‘MEMBERS ONLY’ SECTIONS
When the original website was launched several years ago, former West Heathans were invited to contribute a donation of £10 towards the cost of setting up the site. In return they received a password which allowed them access to the ‘Members Only’ sections.
We believe we have identified a list of the people who made these contributions, and they will shortly receive a separate email explaining how they can set up a new password for the ‘Members Only’ sections on the new website.
If you have never had a password for the ‘members only’ sections and would like to apply for one, email a request to:
WHOGA@hotmail.com
and we will provide details for getting your own password.
New sections will be added to the website as we go along, but if you have a suggestion for something you would like to see, drop us an email.
- When sending any messages or correspondence, please include your name from your West Heath days for ease of identification.
We look forward to hearing from you.
